Fundraising
Fundraising is a very important activity with any Scout Group. Subscription fees alone do not cover the cost of everything we need to pay for. Extra funds also allow us to buy new equipment, and take part in more frequent adventurous activities and more camps.
Our current fundraising sources are:-
Gift Aid
Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs). If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases the value of your charity donations (including our subscription fees) by 25%, because the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift – at no extra cost to you.
You will be asked to complete the Gift Aid Declaration via OSM My Scout annually. This takes less than 20 seconds to complete. You will have an option to opt out if you are not a UK Taxpayer. Many thanks for completing this.
Easyfundraising
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for 18th Dorking (North Holmwood) Scout Group with easyfundraising?
There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
All you need to do is:
1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/18thdorkingscout/?utm_campaign=raise-more and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to 18th Dorking (North Holmwood) Scout Group at no extra cost to you whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges and 18th Dorking (North Holmwood) Scout Group will be really grateful for your donations.
Thank you for your support.

Clarion Futures
Towards the end of 2019 we were very pleased to forge a great new partnership with Clarion. We are currently working on a grant to help towards the cost of camp catering equipment, and look forward to showcasing the outcome of this soon.
As the leaders are already heavily committed to delivering an exciting programme to the young people, we are unable to organise fundraising activities too. We are keen for a small group of parents to form a team to help us implement fundraising activities and idea. Please contact us if you are interested.
Please remember that any additional funds raised will directly enhance your young person through Scouting.
